URBAN TRIBE

Urban tribe is a collection of experiences and symbols that mark my trails of discovery.  So I use raw unrefined canvas and knife out a base of paint and grout, an ancient sort of plaster using present day materials. Working quickly, I press the paint and ink, as in a fresco, so the symbols can embed into the base I prepared and record an event. That event is often unknown, yet familiar like a recurring dream or forgotten memory, and maybe a story for another time. Perhaps others can sense the same in old archetypes viewed anew.
