“Ceremonial Grounds" is an ongoing project that uses custom plasters and mixed media to explore my personal experiences and cultural identity, reflecting on the complexities of life and the disconnection from my Cherokee clan's name. Drawing on the natural world and other ancient cultural influences that we all share, I seek to connect with my ancestral heritage. Through my work with basic earth-born materials, glyphs and textures, I hope to inspire others to find a sense of belongingin a universal world beyond the limitations of the written language and linear time. A place where we can commune with each other and our ancestors.
